Baby Finger paint  ( For ages 9 months old and up)

Make two or three separate bowls of Jell-O gelatin in different colors. Place a piece of paper in front of the baby/toddler and put globs of Jell-O on the paper. Encourage spreading and swirling of the paint. Use regular, butcher's or waxed paper. No harm is done if the finger paint is eaten!

Color Globe

It's easy to make this shake toy that will keep the child happily contented.

Material needed:

A soda bottle or two liter coke bottle
Water
Oil ( Vegetable or mineral)
Food coloring or powder paint
Cloth tape

Fill the container half full with equal parts of water and oil. Add a little food coloring or powder paint. Screw on the top and tape it securely so no water will spill out. Gently shake the container and watch baby's face as the colors move around.

Sidewalk Chalk

1 1/2 cups cold water
3 cups of Paris
1/2 cups liquid tempera paint

Use a bowl that can be thrown away. Add the water to the plaster of Paris and then mix the paint. Pour the mixture into the small paper cups designed for bathroom use. Set for 20 mins, then peel away the paper. If it hasn't set in 20 minutes, it probably won't...so just try again.

Fake Clay

1 cup flour
1 tbs. Alum
1 cup salt
water

Put the flour, salt and alum in a bowl. Add enough water to make a stiff dough.

Silly Putty

Mix two parts of Elmer's glue with 1 part liquid starch. Add food coloring. Keep in sealed container and add 1 tsp. Lysol for desired freshness.
